For Immediate Release – Sumner County
Symphony does benefit Concert for Smith County Senior Center
Combining the talents of a record producer, an independent film maker, a
conductor of a symphony and an author/composer, ClazzyO,
an ensemble from the Sumner County Symphony, is constantly breaking new ground
in the realms of contemporary instrumental music, blending the best of pop and
classical with a hint of jazz.
Featuring Jerrod Cring on drums, Russ Cring on bass, Janet Clazzy on oboe
and the WX-5 Wind Machine (which offers the sounds of over 200 different
instruments) and Jonathan Richard Cring on keyboards, the quartet has delighted
audiences across the country with its energetic and inventive musical stylings,
highlighted by humor and inspiration.
“Music was meant to be a uniter of people, not a divider into
categories,” says director Clazzy from her home in Hendersonville, Tennessee.
“It is our great joy to musically tip our hat to all the great
artists—from Bach to Lennon and McCartney, to Bob Dylan, to Scott Joplin, to
Beethoven.”
The Smith County Senior Center is a focus
point for seniors, providing them a place to come to away from home, so that
they don’t have to be by themselves,“ states director Jan Johnson. “We
serve all of the Smith County seniors with daily meals, activities,
transportation services, day trips, and health programs including health
screenings.”
