The Sumner County Symphony Comes to Dickson

The Sumner County Symphony, in cooperation with the Dickson Help Center, will be presenting a special benefit concert on Thursday night, March 16th, 2006, at 7:00 P.M.at the Creekwood High School auditorium, 3499 Hwy 47 North, Charlotte, TN.

The concert will feature ClazzyO, a six-piece combo from the orchestra.  "We will be showcasing “clazzy” music--the spirit of classical with the soul of jazz--pop-minded," says symphony conductor Janet Clazzy. The repertoire for the evening will include selections from their new CD release, Let.

"The music is an explosive blending of the energy of rock with the originality of Dylan and hints of Beethoven,” cites author/composer Jonathan Richard Cring.

The event is the first of eleven satellite concerts the Sumner County Symphony will be performing in 2006 throughout the Middle Tennessee area, with proceeds from the concerts benefiting local charities.

Maestro Clazzy is the only prima female conductor in the state of Tennessee.  “Since the inception of the symphony in 2001, it has been our mission to both create the beauty of music and to apply all ticket proceeds to worthwhile individuals and organizations in our community. To date we have donated over one hundred thousand dollars to charities, school music programs and points of need.”

The admission for the concert is $10 for adults, $7 for students/seniors and $25 for a family ticket. All monies will go directly to the Dickson Help Center ( 107 Myatt Street.), a local organization assisting in emergency relief in the immediate area.  Tickets are available at the door or in advance at the following locations:
